The New
York Subway is the fastest and cheapest way to get
around New York City.
New York City Transit's subway system operates 24 hours a
day, every day, throughout Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn and
the Bronx. New York City Transit also manages MTA Staten
Island Railway.
Subway trains run about every two to five minutes during
rush hours (6:30 - 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 - 8 p.m., weekdays),
every five to 12 minutes during non-rush hours and every 20
minutes during late night hours.
The fare is $1.50. You can pay your fare with MetroCard
or subway tokens. You can purchase tokens at most stations.
